Creativity in jazz today from mystery to the beauty

Considering the learned work that the recently deceased filmmaker and dramatist Ingmar Bergman who had in music one of his main source of inspiration and did of the creativity the sense of his living, we undertake this show with groups and relevant musicians of jazz today, in a new season with an important European presence.

Creativity, to do something new with the imagination, is a topic today in fashion, not only talking about the plastic arts and similar ones, but even in jobs such us designing, advertising, cultural management and many others human activities. The reason for this creation, in present jazz, is the leading thread for the concerts programmed and where the composition plays an important role, expressed by a fluent language, achieved from different angles as an approach to contemporaneous music up to the most genuine free jazz.

This powerful mixture of composition and improvisation comes from the musicians´ creativity that appears in the festival groups, together with other habitual elements in jazz. Should be enough to see the birth of new style in this first decade of XXI century?

When we are living in an entertainment society, it seems a good moment to offer a music that is something else than a product to be consumed, because not only we will remain indifferent by its known gambling character, should add a lot of reasons to be remembered later on, and even should help us to overcome the reality, since the beauty of the sound not often listened to, in any case with the electronic aid.

Is interesting to mention, according to the specialist’s narration, what said many years ago one of free jazz fathers, the keyboard player Sun Ra (who also played in the San Juan with his orchestra): “...Perhaps my music may frighten the first times that is listened; the reason is that means happiness and in general we haven’t got used to it” Should this be the jazz that we are waiting for? Everything shows that we are going to listen to different and hard music and therefore amazing, but to be moved walking for the not beaten paths of the jazz today.

Is this a matter of arisen curiosity and surprise before the mystery what keep us emotionally happy, mentally clever and become us conscious of the value, seeing the frenetic rhythm of life?

Words may describe not without difficulty this music programmed considering the complexity of the jazz language that is played, so should it be enough to mention the names of the band leaders definitively the jazz that we are going to listen to more than to understand it should be important to be used to feel it as usual.

Welcome the creativity of jazz today in the Johnny, open the doors and feel awake to the sensations and fascination, and be happy with this music if we can and try not feeling the fantasy overflowing. Why cannot we feel the Stendahl Syndrome as seems to happen to several fans of jazz, listening to the living music full of enigmatic beauty as is the jazz today?

And once again, thank you to the sponsors and collaborators, for the support of the direction of the centre, to the amateurs and fans and to the university organization, born in the free decision of the students residents in this college, something rare.
